After pointing out that my characters were always pretty, a fellow illustrator in my crit group challenged me to create a "less than perfect" subject. She reminded me that not everyone should always be perfect in Picture Books! Since I realized how right she was, I've had much more fun! It really loosened me up and gave me a new perspective. This is one of my favorite characters!
